Color Match Touch Up Spray Can Paint For 2001 - 2009 Mercedes - Benz C230 C280 Brush Touch Up Spray Can Paint Please order based on color code only. Color names change between models or years of manufacturing. What is the difference between 1K and 2K Clear Coat? 2K (Urethane) clear coat is similar to factory clear. It has hardener (mixed by pressing on the mixing valve at the bottom of the can). Hardener increases gloss and resistance to UV, scratching and chipping. After hardener is mixed with clear coat, it must be sprayed within 6 hours. 1K (Acrylic) clear coat is a single component clear. It has no time restrictions, but has less gloss and less resistance to UV, scratching and chipping. If using around a gas tank, acrylic clear coat is not recommended. Recommendations: 1. Always test spray base coat before application. If color does not match, contact us via Ebay messaging system. 2. Primer, Base Coat and Clear Coat flow will change depending on the temperature. You should then lightly scuff the area that you are painting with a gray scotch-brite pad, this will give the paint something to stick to. If using primer use a red scotch-brite pad before applying primer. After applying primer wait 1 hour (or until fully dried), and then sand with 600 grit sandpaper. First test the spray can on something besides your car. Do this to get used to how the can sprays. Then spray the area that you are repairing with 2 to 3 coats of color (or until full coverage is achieved) waiting 10 minutes between coats. If you are using clear coat wait 45 minutes before starting to apply the clear coat. Apply 2 to 3 coats waiting 10 minutes between coats. Flexible Bumpers Our paints are extremely flexible and can used over metal or plastic. You will not need an additional flex additive for flexible bumpers. Base coat vs. Single Stage Base coat colors tend to match better. Most cars produced since 1985 are painted in base coat. You can use Single Stage Paint on these cars for inconspicuous spots. Solid colors usually match well in both single stage and base coat. Metallic and pearl colors match better in base coat.
